L’ESPAI DE DISTRIBUCIÓ, QUE ENVOLTA LA PEÇA CENTRAL, ES CONCEP COM UN FLUID CONTINUU QUE CREIX I DECREIX RESPONENT A LES TENSIONS GENERADES PEL FLUX DELS USUARIS, TRANSFORMANT-SE EN ZONA D’ESPERA, REUNIÓ O CIRCULACIÓ.
LA DELIMITACIÓ ENTRE AULES, SALES MULTIÚS I ESPAIS DE DISTRIBUCIÓ ES MATERIALITZA AMB UNS VIDRES CURVILINIS EMMARCATS PER UNES PLATINES METÀL·LIQUES QUE ELS SEPAREN SUBTILMENT DEL TERRA I DEL SOSTRE CREANT UNA LÍNIA D’OMBRA.

Cibernàrium is a technology outreach and training center for professionals and companies. Promoted by Barcelona Activa, its activities are carried out on the first floor of the MediaTic building, located in the new technologies area in Barcelona, known as 22@.
The project starts from a 44×44 m square floor-plan with a fixed central volume intended to house building’s conference hall. The NE and SW facades are made of glass; the first opens toward the city, and the second is protected by a translucent sun filter. The remaining two facades, which are opaque, house the building’s entrances and bathrooms.
The program is organised into three blocks: the training rooms, locatedalong the SW façade; the multipurpose rooms, which, together with the Wi-Fi area, open to the city to the NE and enjoy a terrace overlooking the sea, and lastly, the conference room, which has a central position.
The distribution space around the central piece is conceived as a continuous fluid, growing and diminishing in response to the tensions created by the flow of users, thereby becoming a waiting area, an area for meetings or circulation.
The boundaries between rooms, multipurpose rooms and distribution spaces take form thanks to curvilinear glass panes framed by metal plates separating them subtly from the floor and the ceiling, and creating a line of shadow.
The central piece consists of a double skin, which has uses on both sides: the inner for the stage, the outer for storage spaces, benches and entrances.
The furniture, graphic design and signs suggest connection and continuity, the same concepts that drive the projection of the remaining space.
